Performance Elastomers manufactures grip seal products for boats, RVs (recreational vehicles), trailers, light pick up trucks, mini vans, cars and many other applications too numerous to mention.
The common characteristic of these dual Durometer seals is the adhesion of extruded sponge rubber bulb of EPDM or Neoprene to extruded PVC encapsulated metal clips.
These form a compression seal for hatches, sun roofs, cargo doors, tonneau covers, sliding doors, and trunks, and any other fabricated part or product with hard edges that need to be well sealed when not open.
Performance Elastomers grip seals are available in standard and custom sizes and styles, supporting both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket operations.
We always encourage OEMs to design their most competitive products, and then let us make the trim sealing products that best fit those designs.
Our responsive tooling operations and versatile extrusion and fusion lines will help you reach customer driven markets with speed, accuracy and dependability.
Further, we apply these same capabilities to our program of manufacturing engineering. As we repeatedly cycle through every detail of standard aftermarket grip seal, we continue to find new ways to operate at maximum efficiency and minimum cost.

Of course, for some applications there is no lip to grab. That is why Performance Elastomers balances the grip seal line with adhesive backed sponge rubber seals for flat surfaces and smooth contours. This is one of the reasons we added *3M Heat Activated Tape System (HATS) to our capabilities. HATS forms a high strength permanent seal on the adhesive surface that eliminates the need for mechanical fasteners reducing costs in terms of time, and preserving structural integrity.

The main application of grip seal and HATS adhesive backed products is to seal against water from rain, puddles, inland waterways and the sea. Proper installation and advance uses require an understanding of the effect in various chemical environments. Below is a guide to chemical compatibility for the designer and the applications technician.
